Our Story

Rakaposhi Naturals came into existence to bring you hearty goodness from the foothills of the Karakoram mountains right to your doorstep. Could you imagine living in freezing conditions under -15 degrees celsius? That is excessively cold for even water to stay in liquid form! Does that make you wonder how people in the North live in freezing conditions? You're about to find out.

The first time I visited the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) locale of Northern Pakistan was in 2005. Right away, I knew I had a soft spot for the region. It's been challenging to put a finger on it, but it was something about the people and their way of life in the magnificent mountains that continued to draw me back almost every other year. After studying and working for a couple of years in the capital of Canada, I chose to move back to Pakistan to find a way I could combine my passion for the GB region with an opportunity to also give back.

During my last visit to GB in the spring of 2021, I discovered that the impacts of the pandemic had been pulverizing. Numerous occupations had been obliterated and the neighborhood ranchers were finding it incredibly challenging to offer their products because of disturbed supply chains and rivalry from enormous partnerships.That was when I knew I had to do something to improve the present circumstances in a region that had offered so much to me.

I set out on an expedition. An expedition to recognize issues and concerns, expectations for everyday comforts, and opportunities to improve them. Two things I immediately took note of: firstly, the produce the ranchers were developing were superfoods that boost immunity to fight the virus in frosty temperatures, and secondly, the ladies appear to be more driven, determined, and focused in contrast with the men in the district, regardless of their occupations.

It was amid all these visits that the possibility of building something that combined my passion for the GB region with its present issues rang a bell. A way in which I could help amplify the work of each rancher. I could not remain uninvolved any longer and became adamant to share the goodness of the GB region with everyone. I wanted them to experience what I saw and felt on every visit. Hence, the seeds were planted for a superior assortment of superfoods from the region, advancing them in the significant urban areas, and attempting to make the best of it while offering help to ranchers on further developing the extraction cycle.

In November 2021, Rakaposhi Naturals was born.

We procure items from several local farmers and bring them to you in tasty treats that you can indulge in with your loved ones. Our goal has always been to present to you the best that the region has to offer and to do our small part in improving the lives of the hard-working people behind the products.

As a little token of appreciation, we give 2% of our income back to the local people of Gilgit-Baltistan who assist us with carrying these items to you.
