- Sizes: 150g and 500g
- Packed in: Resealable kraft pouch with a window
- Keeps: 8 to 12 months once opened, sealed, in a cool, dry place
Better value: the 500g pack works out 25% cheaper per kg than the 150g pack.
How to enjoy it
Grind a few tablespoons at a time in a spice grinder and stir them into porridge, yoghurt, smoothies or roti dough. Whole seeds are good in bread and crackers, or toasted as a crunchy topping.
Good to know
Whole or ground?
Ground is best. Whole flax seeds often pass through the body undigested, so grinding them first means you get more from them. Grind small amounts and keep the ground seeds in the fridge.
Can I use flax instead of eggs in baking?
Yes. Mix 1 tablespoon of ground flax with 3 tablespoons of water, leave it for 5 minutes, and use it in place of one egg.
Which size should I buy?
The 500g pack is better value per kg. The 150g pack is a good size to try first, or to add to a gift.
